Have you thought about using a Thermaltake Ducting mod
http://www.thermaltake.com/products/...ductingMod.htm

This dropped my temps on my swiftech mcx4000 by 5 or 6 degrees C, and you can usually find them for about $10 USD

Honestly I am a big case person, and I say a good case is the foundation for any Comp (case and PS combo that is).
With a crappy case you will have horrible air flow, it will be hard to work on it inside, and you will have crappy supply of power.
I would say that aside from the duct, which is a good idea I would invest in atleast a new case or a new PS.
The Antec SLK3700 is a nice case which you can get for 66 shipped. It features 120 mm fans (only comes with one) which can move some serious air thourgh the case while being quiet.
It also comes with a 300 or so PS. Antec makes quality PS so I would trust them, but you can always replace it with something better.

Rember a case is a long term investment (They don't change much, unlike CPUs, Vid Cards, etc). Next time you are upgrading you can always reuse the case since not much can really change, unless there will be something to replace the ATX form factor, or the industry adopts some weid dimensions for optical drives, and HDD.

another question, does memory speed really make a difference? like would i notice the difference from 2700 to 3200, and do those heatsink thingys for memory work?
