CDRW compatibility

Ok, I just got this LG 48x cdrw, everything works and burns fine, but the burned cd's won't play in my hifi or car-cdplayer.
A while ago there was a thread here about good hassle-free cdrw's but i can't find that thread

So if anyone can point me to that tread or recommend cdrw's that will play in almost anything, I'd be more than grateful

Well, first question is are you burning as mp3's or .wav files....as far as I know, most regular cd players that aren't mp3 players won't read off a cdrw, so the next question would be are you using cdr's or cdrw'?

they are standard Imation cdr's (not cdrw) , burning mp3 files converted into cda.files using Nero

Did you finalise the disk? Close it?

i'm guessing you burned it as 'audio CD'? and not 'data cd?'

audio CD's finalise automatically afaik

works fine on my LiteOn 48 CDRW and HiFi and CarStereo

they play on my other cd-rom drive, but with a lot of skipping as if the disk has been badly scratched (which is not the case)

when i put them in hifi or car stereo, they don't even intitialize (showing tracks and total playing time) ... just 'error'
