i-Net + Certification

I am thinking about getting an i-Net+ certification. I have been in the internet industry as a graphic designer for over 7 years but I am finding that I need to start thinking about advancing my career with some training and this is the one I will start with. Anyone out there have this cert? Any suggestions on websites that have good info about it? Was the exam difficult?

Any info would be helpfull.

Fritz

I took the test last year just before they changed to the new format. Was the test hard? Not particularly. I ran through the Cram Exam book (by Coriolis - red covered Comptia books at any book store) and was able to get 90%. I also had 5 years experience in I.T. (which helped me understand what I was reading).

I think the A+ and the INet+ would be a great start for you. If you haven't taken the A+ certification yet, start there. It will give you some background for some of the items in the INet+.

As far as good sites to test, try these:

http://www.nozzie.com/inet+.htm
http://www.braindumpcentral.com/
http://www.freecomptia.com/inet.html

Good luck to ya

I'm a full-time web developer and the i-Net+ exam helped me understand the basics, but it didn't go too far beyond that. It's something to have under your belt, but don't expect it to take you up the ladder. I used the Exam Cram book as well - and it's basically all you need, especially if you already have experience.

In graphics design, you may want to look into the Prosoft Certified Internet Webmaster series (CIW)... http://www.ciwcertified.com ... it doesn't yet hold much water though (I've been saying that for years, unfortunately).

Truth is, in this field, your portfolio is already your best asset. No need to prove what you know conceptually.
