Difference between "Barton" and regular amd xp processors?

I've been hearing quite alot of the "Barton" AMD Athlon processors. What exactly is the difference between "Barton" and normal? Are they cheaper? Better Quality? Overclocked?

Thanks

The only difference is twice the cache.

They're no different in performance than the regular t-bred, as AMD adjusted their speed ratings to reflect this. (a 2500+ barton should be slightly faster than a 2400+ t-bred and slightly slower than a 2600+ t-bred).

Depends on what you are doing and spending. The latest XP procs are all Bartons. My fave is the xp1700, which is a tbred. So, for OC, tbred is better.

What kind of price range are you looking at for the processor?

Also, what kind of motherboard is this going to be going into?

I personally like the Bartons, but I run SETI and the larger cache is an advantage.

Supposedly a lot of people are getting their 2500+ CPUs to run at 2.2GHz (3200+ speed).. Mine did it with nothing in the motherboard, but got really unstable once I plugged everything in.
