Help setting DMA mode in XP Pro

Okay this is really strange. I have no "Advanced Settings Tab" under my properties in my IDE ATA/Atapi Controller. I'm trying to see if it's set to DMA mode or not as I have reason to believe it's not with my hdd performance and benchmarks. I've also tried looking directly under my disk drives properties and guess what, no advanced setting tab there either. I also want to check my cd-rw and lo and behold, no advanced tab there either! What's up with this? I'm running XP Pro Sp1 and have never had a problem with other OS's. Does XP Pro automatically detect and set DMA or something? If not, should I roll back my drivers and use the native windows XP ones? I'm currently using 4 in 1 drivers so maybe this is this problem? Btw, my hdd is a Western Digital Special Edition 80gig 8mb cache. I am really stumped with this. Any help is much appreciated.

Just go to the properties of your IDE ATA/Atapi Controller...should be a Primary Channel tab and Secondary Channel tab.

What motherboard do you have? Are you looking in the properties for the "Primary IDE Channel" and "Secondary IDE Channel"? That's where you will find the "Advanced Settings" tab to check on the DMA settings.
