overclocking

hi i have a old computer and can i overclock it it has 166mhz and it is a cyrix mx processor

You CAN over clock it.
USe the chart on that site that says:CPU SPEED SELECTION (CX 6X86MX)

Looks like the last configuration would be your fastest-200mhz.
Try it out, see if it works

Read the cpu speed selection charts. Do you know what a jumper is? The JPs represent jumpers.

You probably won't have a ton of luck with a Cyrix processor. They were kinda hot to start with.

200mhz CPU on the 75 mhz bus would be fastest, if you can get it to work.

ok i open means like to take the little tab off write and closed means to cover write i did like it said and it is a little slower it was running 166 and now it is running 150 so what do i need to do

ok i got it to 180mhz so that is a high as i can get it thanks for yalls help i treid to get it higher but i cant so that is a little faster thanks bye
