Can't install usb bracket on 17 pin MB

My friend has an old ASUS MB which supports usb according to BIOS so he bought a usb bracket thing with 2 usb port to connect to his MB! On Windows device manager it shows the usb connectors allright with no yellow excalmation or anything strange! The problem is that I can't figure out how to connect the usb cable to the MB. It has a 17 pin header on it. But I don't know the right way to plug the cable! Here's how it looks:

Motherboard:
--------------------
|OOOO OOOO|
|OOOOOOOOO|
--------------------

Cables:
There are 2 ends from the cables, both with red, white, green and black wires coming from the bracket. Both have 5 little holes to be connected to the pins. I tried a few combinations but no luck! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

All right, I'll get you started. Maybe someone else will finish this off. The Red and Black are the power. The Green and White are data. You need to know the which pins are which on the header on the mainboard. You may find this information in the mainboard manual or on Asus's internet site. The female connector which goes to the USB bracket may have to be rewired to conform to the configuration of the mainboard header. Lift the flap on the connector; draw the wire terminal out; and put it back into the right hole on the female connector.

Let me see if I got this right, u saying I may have to pull the wires out from the female connector and put them back into the right place(little holes on the same connector) depending on the motherborad model to match the pins?!? I'll look for my MB on some site and see what I can find! Thanks Etruscan!
