3dmark2003 reports wrong bus speed?

I have searched the forums and couldn't find any info on this:

When I run 3dmark2003 and compare my score(4924) with similar systems, it lists my FSB speed as 133! However, it is 533. My BIOS lists it at 533. I was wondering if this is a bug in the program, or if there is something I can/need to do to correct this.

I think my score is a little low for my system.

P4 2.66 ghz w/533 mhz fsb
768 mb of pc-800 ram
Radeon 9700 Pro w/128 mb ram
Western Digital 120 gig 8mb buffer 7200 rpm as master
Quantum 80 gig 7200 rpm as slave
Samsung cd-rw and Aopen 12x dvd
Intel D850EMV2 mobo
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum EX
Win XP home, freshly installed
Direct X 9
All wrapped in a liquid cooled system. Everything water cooled; cpu, chipset, video card and hard drives.

Every driver updated and drives defragged just before test.

I can't overclock my mobo, as there are no jumpers or settings to do so and the video card isn't o'cd either.

Doesn't this seem like a low score for this set-up? How/should I change anything to get it faster?

Thanks!

Don't worry about your bus report...it is correct.

Intel uses what is called "Quad-pumped" architecture to define their FSB speeds. This means they multiply the PHYSICAL FSB by four to get an effective rating. In other words, your FSB is actually 133MHz physical times four (133x4=533). Just as 400MHz systems are 100MHz physical x4.

3DMark reports the physical bus setting on your motherboard (if you go into the BIOS on your system, you'll notice the setting is 133, not 533).

Hope this helps!

It does help. However, the setting in the bios is 533. But at least I know the reason for the 133 displayed in 3dmark. I think I will compare my system to others using Intel boards to avoid future confusion.

Thanks!
