19" CRT dot pitch

Well, I'm looking for a bigger/better monitor. I have a 17' 16' vieable one right now from gateway which is a great monitotr. I have a job, and I want something BIGGER! So, I'm on the lookout for some ~19"ers. 20and 21" are just ENOURMOUSLY priced. I found 19" (18 vieable) for under $200. That is a nice pricerange.

So what is a good dot pitch I should be looking at? .24 good? Is there a REALLY great monitor out there that you can recommend? Tigerdirect seems to be a really good/cheap place to buy monitors. Got any other great sites?

PS 75hz refresh rate is okay, right? I should frown apon anything lower?

Thanks

What about using a LCD for gaming. Any thoughts on that?

Joker:

I use a 19" Samsung SyncMaster 955DF ... beautiful flat monitor, but it is a bit more than $200, though not much. Check around.

WOW that's big Btw my Acer 19" has a .21 dot pitch and I picked it up locally for $195. My 21" NEW was almost $950 when I purchased it and I believe it is also .21 or .24 it is a NEC E1100+

first choice would be sony trinitron but they are expensive because of extra tubes. second would be viewsonic and third would probably be nec.

also i would NEVER recomend buying a moniter without seeing it in person - specs can only tell you so much when it comes to a moniter so while you may buy online becuase even with shipping its cheeper, atleast take a trip to your local comp store to see it even though you wont buy there

Aparture Grill or Shadow Mask?

Foggy, are these monitors referbished?

"This product has been factory serviced to function in NEW CONDITION. It may include some minor pin-sized nicks or scratches. "

I was wondering how 21" had such great prices.
