TV as a second monitor

Is it possible to use my tv as the second monitor in a dual monitor setup. I would be using the s-video from the card and a converter (s-video -> scart) to the tv.
Can I use the s-video in this way?

my video card is radeon 9700pro and windows xp pro

don't think you want to do that...

TV is only 640x480 REALLY poor resolution.

Probably be better to go to a computer show and pick up a good used monitor vs. using a tv.

If your TV has an SVideo in, you may have fair results. Readable text...

i did this on a 20 inch monitor using the s-video, it sucks horrendesouly. Reading text is terrible, not much you can do with it. playing games sucks also, try it if you have the stuff, but i assure you, you wont like it.

this may help http://www.techimo.com/forum/showthr...v+as+a+monitor

I echo the same sentiments posted above, unless you have an expensive plasma HDTV.

I was able to use a 30 inch TV as a monitor with My Voodoo 3 3500TV @ 800x600 with easily readable text. I think it has a lot to do with the quality of the card doing TV out.
