USB 2 card question

Will a typical PCI USB 2.0 card have a connection to hook to a front usb port on a case?

Or to re-word the question, if I have cases with usb 2 capable ports on the front, can I use those ports with PCI usb 2 cards?

Thanks, JP

well i think you would need an adaptor for that or do a little cut and splice.
correct me if im wrong

the cases iv seen with the front USB connections have the little 4 pin connection for going to your mobo and the USB cards with the internal port has a standard female USB port on the card. it can be done by cutting of the 4 pin and splicing on a male USB

In that case I am probably just better off buying a newer mobo with usb2 headers built for the purpose...that way the person laying out the $1000 bucks wont freak by opening the case one day and seeing a splice job, lol.

Well if it is for someone else, that would be the best way.
Shows profesionalism and competance.
Plus a USB2 mobo is not that more ex*****ve then the 1.1 ones, they have been around for some time now.
