when i have trouble installing win2k or winXP i usually install first windows 98 or windows ME first....... then once im "in" i can run the cd from the screen that will allow me to install it........ it always asks me..... do u want a new installation or do u want to upgrade...... i choose NEW INSTALL and later i delete windows 98 or winME..... its a good way to make sure that u get ur system installed....

its LONG and tedious..... but atleast u get what u wanted!

try burning another copy of ur win2k cd or if u can... get a new one.... the one u have could be damaged

Do you have the Win2k drivers for your MOBO on a floppy? When you start the install and on the very bottom of first page you will see "press F6 to install drivers" Press F6 and follow the directions.
;=)

hey........ why dont u give linux a try..... use redhat 9 or mandrake 9.1 they are both very easy to use and its way better than "borring old windows"

im happy with my linux..... only two things... i cant install any "peer 2 peer" download programs cuz i dont know how to.... and i cant use some of my favorite windows apps......

other than that. linux is cool

this is how i get my pc started.... boot the "windows me startup diskette"

it will add drivers to ur cd rom and boot u to dos... start the setup.exe from the dos screen.... and ur ON.... only works with ME or 98.... from there..... UPgrade to 2000 pro

THAT cant faiL

yes my friend, you are right.... and i dont do everything by the book... my tech teachers themselves wheren't certified. and i know that they got the job done. but if what im doing is working fine..... then i do recommend someone else to do it, the main goal here is to get that pc "running"
