How about sharing the folder that has your music in it over the network and then playing it from comp2?

That's what I told him in his other thread. What he wants to do is to play the music on the #2 PC without actually touching the #2 PC. Short of using VNC or something, I don't think it can be done.

No need for a new thread here, nick.

Well the only way I can see how he can play his music without touching his comp2 is to set it up with taskmanager and have the task ran at specific times from that computer automatically. however in order to set it up he would have to "touch" comp2.

Have comp1 speaker out plug into Mic input on computer 2.

As long as computer 2 has mic unmuted in the volume control...it will work.

Only need 1 audio cable with stereo plugs on both ends.

Send a message via ICQ to crouse
radio shack sells adapters to extend this and the cables

would be under $10

Dustyrun gave you your answer. You'll have to touch the thing to share the folder or drive. Then map the drive on PC 2 and start playing your MP3's. Takes all of about 30 seconds for both PC's combined.

Can be done by using the Remote Management thing in winXP Pro, apparently, Was a thread about this somewhere here recently. I'll see if I can find it.

Cheers

Found it! Answer to your question can be found in here.

He wanted the opposite, but as you can see your way works as well with remote desktop.

Seems most things have been asked here at least once before.

Cheers
Mick
