windows stuck in diagnostic mode

Ok, I had to set xp into diagnostic mode to fix a problem. When it is in diagnostic mode, the appearance is set to classic mode, and several things do not work, including windows installer. So I change it to normal mode, and tells me I need to restart for the settings to apply. So I restart, but when I come back, it still acts like it is in diagnostic mode. Anyone know how to fix this?

Hmm only thing I can think of is to restart the computer and hit F8 during bootup to get the options and then boot to normal mode option.

Yea I already tried that, I've tried pretty much every option after pushing F8. And they all just do the same thing that its stuck on.

Use system restore utility{start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system resore}. Choose a restore point prior to using diagnostic mode. Any software installed after your restore point will have to be reinstalled.
cheers, ~pawprint~

check, msconfig ... -> start -> run -> msconfig

make sure all the settings are correct to you... (like, all the selections are checked, etc)
hope this helps, Paul
