Norton acting crazy

I have Norton 2002 and this is the second time that it has disabled it self. I've tried to un and reinstall but that don't work, I still does the samething. After installing and tring to run a virus check it gets stuck on config system <----- I think that is what it said.

Any ideas without format c: again?

What operating system are you using and what updates are installed?

dont think this is the case, but is norton disabling itself at startup and then enabling itself again after a while?

if so then posts 6-9 in this thread might help
