RTCW LAN Server

Hi, I've got 2 PCs, one is connected to the other by an Ethernet cable. If I run a RTCW server on one, I can't join it on the other one. Why's this?

BTW, I don't have an Internet connection on them when I have them both connected. I don't have my router yet either.

I should still be able to play over the cable though right?

It isn't a firewall problem then? Are you trying to run a dedicated server?

If you're connecting two pcs together and only using an ethernet cable then that cable will have to be a crossover cable. You can't just use a regular cable and expect it to work.
