help! XP won't recognize my sound!

I hope you guys here at TechIMO can help me out! For some reason windows XP no longer recognizes my sound card, which is onboard sound on an Abit IS7-E motherboard. I know it worked before, but I had to reinstall windows and since then I've installed and reinstalled the drivers a whole bunch, but I still get that I have no audio hardware devices, or the drivers are missing...which they clearly aren't! I even went so far as to reinstall Windows again, but I'm still having the same problem. Help! I don't wanna go out and spend 50 bucks on a sound card

is it enabled in your bios?

many onboards tend to have problems, have u updated ur bios,your audio drivers, that should do it.

Try reinstalling your mobo software, and check the bios as stated.
