Generals Prob

Hello

i have a problem with the new (in nz anyway) command and conquer generals game, wen i get into the menus the background picture is covered by a black screen, this also happens with the ingame hud thingy where transparent area are instead covered by a black screen.

similar things with other games used to happen with my old built in 815 graphics chip but now i have a geforce mx 440 se also i saw a computer with a geforce 2 mx 200 running generals without that black stuff covering transparent areas, my card is an eagle mx 440 se sdram, and all other transparent things work fine, i have the xp certified 43.45 drivers and also set rivatuner to high performance direct 3d.

does anybody know about any similar probs with this game?
do i need to change something in rivatuner or use older (or newer) drivers?

any help would be greatly apprecaited

thanks in advance

Try adding this to your command line for Generals.

Right click on your Desktop Icon for Generals and select properties
and enter in the 'Target' field

"C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command and Conquer Generals\generals.exe" -noFPSLimit -nologo -noshellmap
You must also include the "

With the MX440SE (Assuming it is a GeForce4) you will probably have to then jump into Options within the game and set everything to low.

Unfortunately MX cards are not really good enough for Generals.

Also make sure you have DirectX9.0a and that you have all the appropriate updates for your motherboard, chipset, soundcard...etc.
