Subnetting Question

I'm trying to understand subnetting...
Take this Class C IP for example: 255.135.175.0 and this Subnet mask 255.255.255.16. Below are the binary convesions for both these addresses.
IP in binary: 11001000.10000111.10101111.00000000
Binarymask: 11111111.11111111.11111111.00010000

Ok, the first host address on the network is the host part of the binary subnet mask (the part in bold) to a decimal value of one which would mean 11111111.11111111.11111111.00010001
and the last host on the subnetwork of 11111111.11111111.11111111.00010000 is done by getting the last valid host of the subnetwork which is 11111111.11111111.11111111.00011110

EDIT: Corrected just in case someone stumbles upon this later

Looks good to me. Broadcast should be .15.

Have you seen this site?

Wow great site M_Six. I have to check that out when I get home. I don't understand what you mean by broadcast should be .15.. could you clarify.
Also, do you have any idea on how to calculate the first and lst hosts on the subnetwork?
Thanks.

You got it.

Go through the lectures on that site and you'll be an expert. It's a great site.
