Multiplayer Games - Fluctuating Pings

I just installed my DSL to the new computer I finished building, got connected to the Internet, can surf the web very fast.

But, I installed Return to Castle Wolfenstein, started up multiplayer, and my ping fluctuates from about 400-650ms, on every server.

I get some heavy "Connection Interrupted" messages in-game as well. Anyone know what's wrong, and how to solve this??

Nope...

I got the same prob except I have it in almost all of my games, and my ping is around 200 where my cousins is around 80. He even has a slower connection than me.

Well...how do I fix this?? I used this same DSL on my other computer which is 1GHz slower than this one, and I get great pings, does it have something to do with my NIC?

Does the game have an option for the type of connection you have? Maybe its set wrong.

Hmm, what's eating all of your ping? You installed the latest patches for the game, right? Have anything else running that might be interfering with your connection speed? Could always try the known good nic card from your older computer.

Try using All Seeing Eye to find games. It has a nice configuration utility that tests your connection speed when you first set it up.
