Spyware scanner.

The twist is one that is effective in indentifying any installed programs that bring the spyware/adware along with it rather than just indentifying the specific spyware that is present. I'm not sure if any such thing exists.

Uh, because SpyBot would have caught it by now

BTW: Another vote for AdAware.

The general rule is that you should multiple spyware applications on your PC, one after the other. That way, you would be able to remove components that the "other companies" haven't gotten to yet.

Trojans! Wow. AdAware gets my vote for Spyware but trojans really should have been stopped by a firewall and/or an antivirus.

You *have* got a firewall and an up to date antivirus program, haven't you?

This thread talks about spyware blaster.

claims to STOP spyware from getting into the system, compared to finding them after they've been installed. it kinda works i must say...the number of spyware found by adaware has been on the decrease since i installed spywareblaster.

and no one's found each other as spyware yet
