Mac Network

I want to setup it up so that my freind can use both of her Macs on the internet at the same time. I'm not familer with Macs but I thought that if I just use this hub

and some UTP wires than it would be easy enough. Are there any compatiplity issues between Macs and certain hubs. I couldn't think of how in the world there would be one at all but I just wanted to be 100% before I start buying stuff.

Hi,
If she has Mac OS 10.2 or later on her macs, she would be able to share the internet connection. Apple created Rendezvous networking technology which makes networking easy. Go to the System Prefs -> Sharing -> Internet Sharing. Click start on the internet sharing. Connect the macs togethter with a crossover cable or connect the Mac that is sharing to the ethernet hub to the uplink port. connect the other mac to the other port in the hub and it should work! post back if it doesn't! thanks, Paul
