9700 no more?

Did they stop making the 9700s? I see more and more being removed from online stores. All I see now is 9600s and 9800s. Just when 9700 was hitting the sub $200 price range they take it off.

They're still around all over the place, Newegg has a decent selection, I should know, I was shopping for a video card for the past week and I saw plenty of 9700's. I finally settled on the Powercolor Radeon 9800(non-pro) though.

Newegg is taking them down also. Powercolor 9700 is gone. That's the one I was looking to get.

I just ordered one about 30min ago. On www.pricewatch.com you can find many many stores wit em.

Yeah, been lookin to pick one up myself. Go to pricewatch and they are all over the place. It is getting harder to find the "Built by" cards though. Maybe ATI did slow down production.

My impression is that they moved their production from the older chips to the newer one.

Gotta clear out that old stock for the production of those $500 wastes of cash!
