Hard drives not detecting

I have about 20 harddrives I am determined to get running.
I recently came into a lot of them and these last 20 are throwing me for a loop. They are western Digital model 135AA's, 13 giggers, and Seagate 8 giggers.
One of the problems is that the bios of my computer does not detect these drives (i'm sure the jumper and settings are correct, because I have several of the same model that do work fine.)
The other problem is the click of death, the strange part about this is if I remove the controller card...and swap it to another drive, the other drive gets the click of death instead, Up till now I thought It clanked because of the arm hitting or being stuck on the platters..learn something new everyday.
Other than the "freezer" method, does anyone have ideas/suggestions/websites of how to fix these drives? Not to many websites or discussions are dedicated tho this area.
thanks

holy cow

Many thanks for providing the link.
I never would have found that article !
I guess I wont get to depressed about these drives because its obviously a chip issue that I have no control over. But yet I still cant seem to find the garbage can in my house... I always have hopes of salvaging everything!!!
thanks./
