Asus P4C800 Deluxe vs P4C800-E Deluxe

1. What {if any}, are the major differences between the standard deluxe version and the 800-E deluxe version other than cost?

2. If the additional cost was not an issue, which board would be the most versitile?


*Planned machine - 1 of the 2 boards in question, P4 3GHz 800MHz FSB, 512MB to 1Gig of memory, {2} WD1200JB hard drives, Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum sound card, ATI All-In-Wonder RADEON 9700 PRO 128MB DDR 8X AGP video card, & Sony’s Internal DVD±RW Drive DRU510A.

*Planned applications/use - Multimedia / Gaming PC w/ room to grow and possible mirroring.

Hello.

I have both boards here are the differences.

1. The P4C800 E Deluxe has ICH5R support. This support allows you to have native SATA support for RAID 0-1. Becasue it is native support it bypasses the BUS and thus reduces bandwidth on the BUS.
2. The P4C800 E Deluxe uses the Intel(R) PRO/1000 CT Network Connection. This alos bypasses the BUS thus reducing bandwidth.

Other then these 2 items the boards are the same.
