quieter fan only?

i ve got a dr thermal heat sink and fan. can you just replace the noisy fan with a quieter one instead of the whole heatsink/fan combo? if so,can someone direct me towards some quieter fan links/sites??

the heatsink works fine, but the fan is a bit noisy.

i installed the stock amd hs/fan on my new nforce mobo and its even noisier than the dr thermal was.

thanks,eh?

Yes of course you can. But, will your cpu's temps allow it?

What is the current speed, CFM, size, dB rating of your current fan?
This info would help out alot in answering your question.

heres a review on the heatsink/fan i have. this is the heatsink i would like to get a quieter fan for. i thought with all the advances in fan design,i may be able to get one to fit this heatsink that would cool well, but at the same time be quieter

Fan : YS Tech, 5000RPM, 38CFM, 41dBa, 12V, 3.12W, ball bearing

at this moment,i am using a stock(3 yr old,but never used before) amd heatsink/fan. i am crunching UD 24/7,and the temps are holding steady at 47C cpu and 33C case temps.

but would like to use the dr thermal heatsink with a quieter fan.

thanks,eh?

What you're using is approximately what you're looking at.
