Kids Need advice on selling my PC please.

I don't know if this is in the posting guidelines or not because I'm not posting a link to an auction or anything.. I'm just asking a question. I want to build a new computer but in order to do that I must sell my old one first. I planned on selling it on ebay and I wanted people to give me an estimate on what they think it would go for before I sell it and then not have enough money to build a new one. Here are the specs:

Jet Black Antec SOHO SX1030 File Server Case - 330W Antec PSU
AMD Athlon XP 1800+ @ 1.53GHZ Chip w/ SLK-800 + SmartfanII
ASUS A7A266 Mobo 1011 Bios
512MB Hi Perf LEVEL 2 2100 222 Mushkin DDR 2100 Memory
IBM Deskstar 40GB ATA100 Hard Drive
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live 5.1 Sound Card
Geforce 4 ti4200 64MB Video Card w/ TV out
3Com 10/100 Nic
Creative Labs 52 X CDRom
Plextor 12x10x32 CDRW

I also modded it putting in a window and stealthing drives etc. Here are some pictures:

I really appreciate it!

Tough to say, but if I were bidding on it I would go no higher than 300 bucks. That is just me. Eye candy is great for MAC users, if that is your thing. So I dont usually put to much in how a machine looks. My machine at home doesnt even have the covers or sides on it. What I really care about is what is under the hood.

I in your case would forgo the sale of the machine, and use it as a network server for files, images, games and the like. Nothing like a home network to get the blood pumping.

Does the computer come with an OS?
That is going to make a difference as to what it's worth.

Dont include an OS. It would be a waste of money. If they want one they can procure it thru what ever means necessary.

That's not a bad system. I'd say about $400 at least.

I'mthinking wcheezer is lowballing big time. The case looks VERY nice by the way. I'm modding a similar one right now. Looks are obviously a big item these days. If you can find someone in to mods around your area, that's be your best bet. No shipping, no hassles (except when something goes wrong they might hound you). I would start at $500 and go down from there.
BTW, Send me a link to that see-through top, would ya?

I said that 300 was my hard cap on it. But one mans trash is another mans treasure. Just because you put a 3k stereo in a 500 dollar car does not make the car worth $3500.

I have found out that when listing things in an auction style you will get closer to what you are wanting for it if you put it as a no reserve auction and start the bidding low. This is to attract many bidders. List a lot of pictures and a good (but not to wordy) description, and I will say you will probably get between 4 and 5 hundred.

Good point wcheezer about the stereo. One will hardly ever get what they invest in something.
The auction pointers are very true also. Try the buy it now feature, setting the BIN price about $50 more than your lowest possible selling price, it's always worked well for me.
