You can change the multiplier in the BIOS on most boards. Some boards have jumpers that can be used to change the multiplier.

You can't raise it any higher than 12.5...That is the highest that it can go. Your nForce2 unlocks it automatically but, you just can't go any higher than 12.5....BTW, please don't use all caps next time. I understand that you are mad about it...I am about mine, too. Mine can't o/c worth a crap.

the best web for rising the multiplier

At last I have change my multiplier in ten minutes.
Here you have the best web to do it.
http://www.madshrimps.be/gotofaqlink.php?linkid=736
In this web you can find up to five different ways.
I used the wires in the socket and after ten minutes I was raising my multiplier more than 13 for an amd 2.6 xp.

I hope you find it useful

Not necessary for that processor...a better board would have allowed you to change it...hope it didn't cause any damage to the CPU.

ok but my motherboard is good

I have a a7n8x deluxe
and this motherboard allows you to overclock by using the fsb (and it works great) but with my amd xp2.6 i can't raise the multiplier more than 12,5.
Now i can use both the fsb and the multiplier.
I don't see why you think i did a stupid thing.
thanks for your warnings

I have an A7N8X Deluxe...and a 2600+...and when I left it overclocked a while back I lowered the multiplier...without a modification to the CPU.

It can damage the CPU to cross bridges the way it's done...even if it seems to work it can easily cause problems shortly down the road.

I do hope your stays in good condition though.
