Water Cooling additives

My attempt at a funny story about the way I found some coolant.

I am looking for stuff to put in my water cooling system that will prevent corrosion, help keep temps down, prevent bacteria growth, and not change the water color TO much as to where I can't use UV dye.

LOL I want a lot.

I hear a lot of people use Water-wetter. That stuff is IMPOSSIBLE to find! I looked everywhere and I could only find it online for $8.50 for 12 oz. Some people use Zerex engine coolant, but I can't this anywhere either.

I stummbled into Napa autoparts since it was right next to Jackinthebox. I'm in a some wierd town (1 hr away) that I don't know, just looking around in this store. We have a AutoZone and Napa in our town and neither have either WaterWetter or Zerex.

Then, I saw it like a beacon shining, lighting the way to utter freedom. WATTERWETTER! TADA! I looked in my wallet, and i only had $3!!! NO!!!!! What was I supposed to do? I could beg for money! No, I'm to shy. I can't belive I used that $10 on gas! I ccould have gone without it I bet.

I noticed there wasn't a price on the thing anywhere, so I waddled on up to the counter and asked the guy the price in a sad, heart-broken voice. It took him like 10 minutes to get the price. I felt like a masochist waiting to get a spear thrown at him. Then he said, "That will be $1.74". !!!!! I whipped out those $3 like Jhon wayne would whip out a 6-shooter. BAM! I layed those suckers on the counter and strolled out of there a happy man.

Now, I hope watterWetter is good.

What will prevent bacteria growth though?

I think most people use either Zerex, Water Wetter, or a regular green colored anti-freeze, which will give an ugly hint of green.

Water Wetter is great from what I hear, the only people who don't use it are ones who don't want to spend the money on it.

Peeps also use purple ice, toyota red coolant, and windshield wiper fluid. For bacteria I hear methylene blue and betadine. Some people are even using a bit of bleach, but I heard that isn't such a good idea.

The stuff that came with the Corsair HydroCool200 unit is Propylene Glycol which has corrosion inhibiters and dye. Makes the water radioactive green. I like it
