NWN issue

lately i have been freezing up during play occurs when im in a small group and we get into battle seems like my puter hangs....

any tweaks i can do..

system
Athlon 700
384 RAM
MX400 vid card 64Meg
win2kpro

before i go into play i turn off my fire wall, and go to the task manager and shutdown non-essential stuff... I have defragged and check my puter numerous times.. any win2kpro tweaks to help ether free up resources or prevent this lock up (usually have to reboot to get going again)....txs

update your drivers first. Then turn down/off all the visual and sound effects in NWN. You are running on the edge CPU wise. When big battles start, particularly ones with lots of magic it will bring your machine to its knees.

I have the res at 800x600 and the video is already turned down.. I willcheck the sound...

For a temp help (before i upgrade CPU modo and ram in 2-3 months would a newer vid card hellp????

Sure - a newer video card always helps. Still, you're going to want to upgrade the rest of the machine as well so spent accordingly.

NWN runs fine at pretty high details on my bro's:

Geforce 4 MX 440 PCI
512 MB SDRAM
