good fan for overclocking the xp1700, help

Hi

guys Im looking for a good fan (not a crazy price)
for overclocking the xp1700 a bit, not to super speeds, I was just wondering if it could run at 1.7-1.8ghz, is that hard to achieve ?
I would really want the fan to be quiet or at least semi, I have a 7000rpm one right now and its driving me crazzzzzy

also is the AXDA1700 any good ? unfortunately I couldnt get the stepping (Im looking to buy it from newegg and thats all the info they give)

please help, really need advise on this since its the first time Im attempting such an experiment

Thank You
Dan

so any fan that is rated for 2ghz and more should be good for overclocking the xp1700 ? I was thinking the xp1700 should do more heat in overclock mode than a normal xp2800 or am I wrong ?

Thanks
Dna

go to newegg and look for the thermalright igloo 2500, it is the silent breeze 462's slightly bigger brother. I have the 462 on my 2400@2700, but it is not enough to cool it with the case fully assembled, i had to modify the cooling to the case, and leave the side off.. which lightly said is very annoying...

not really sure if a 1700 at 2gig is warmer than a 2800 at default . if it is i don't think it will be much more . so yes a hsf that will do a 2800 should do a 1700 at 1.7/8 like you said you wanted it clock it to . but you will also need some case fans to help keep the case cool which inturn will help keep the cpu cool . you said in another thread you had no case fans .
