Programs for other user accounts?

How can I get a program installed for one user, to be accessible for other users? specifically, CounterStrike?

thanks

You need to make the other accounts have the same permissions as yours. Are you the admin? Are these local accounts on the same PC?

Easy, just install it in a place that all users can access, like C:/games/Counter-Strike or something like that. After you've installed it, go to the folder's properties and set the permissions as you like. Here is my Half-Life folder properties; by default, Windows will give full permission to everybody in a folder like C:/games

edit* My OS is Windows 2000

Same way, basically. Just click on the properties tab after right clicking on the folder. Should be a tab with Tools (I think - not in XP right now), on which is the permissions tab.

Hope that helps

Cheers

You may need to disable simple file sharing first in order to see what ShawnD1 posted.

Nope, there's only 3 tabs: General, Sharing, Customize

Man, XP is really hard to use lol.

Ah, Tools is in winNT I think My mistake.

And I'm not sure if Simple File Sharing affects local folders and local users - I thought it only affected network users. Might be wrong though.

Cheers

...and meese was right...

If the Security tab is not available and you cannot configure permissions for users and groups:
The file or folder that you want to apply permissions to is not on an NTFS file system drive. You can set permissions only on drives that are formatted to use the NTFS file system.
Simple file sharing is enabled. By default, simplified sharing is enabled in Windows XP unless you are on a domain. To work around this behavior, disable Simplified Sharing.
