Extreme problems on benchmark due to gf2 mx400(?)

well some *** is going on latley with my comp i have bought this comp like a week ago
now the thing is when i bought it i agreed i wont buy a new gfx at that moment and stick to my old fella (geforce 2 mx 400 64 ram)

that is for 2 reasons
A. I figured out there is no intersting game at the moment requieing an expensive card like i wanna buy
B. I thought that doom3 and stuff like the upcoming games arent out yet so i better wait a bit till the prices on the r9700 pro or so drop cause im not gonna use the gfx that much till those games are comming

anyway back to stick to the topic im running on this setup
well AMD 3+ running @ 2176 MHz (no o/c *** )
512 ddr (dont remember company) 400 mhz and ***
2 X 80 gb 7200 rpm segta hdds
DFI lan-party (i must add its the best mobo i owned)
and offcourse the gf2 ( )

So im testing it @ benchmark and i couldnt pass the 3k with 2001 se

is it normal ?:\
what could be causing this REALLY low score?
are u suggesting me to buy the r9700 pro now and save trouble l8er?
Is the low score comming from the gfx or is it a bad installation of the os or somthing that could interfare with the benchmark results?

ill be glad to have any replays about this metter since its VERY important to me

lub,
L33T :]

was the gf2 in ur old comp?
wat score did u get then?
i dont think u could expect much from a geforce any, still its an ok card only buy a new card now if ur having probs in gaming, its not made for high benchs.

Running on a p4 3.06: http://www6.tomshardware.com/graphic...charts-05.html
Running on a Athlon 1000+

Just look at the charts, and look at the geforce 2 mx 400 64 ram graph. Neither could break 3000. The reason, if theres an MX it means its a piece of crap and good for desktop applications, not games. I had the 32 meg version and it was a even bigger piece of crap. MX is ALWAYS terrible. Look at the Geforce4 MX, its slower than a GeForce2. You shouldn't expect anything descent from that card, and if you want good scores, get a new card, and if your going Nvidia again don't get something with MX.

If you don't care about any games out right now, and don't plan on using it to play games until a few months from now, then I don't think you should get a new card. Will it get cheaper? Yes, technology always gets cheaper with time. If you really care about your benchmark scores, by all means get a new card. As for card decision, I don't know. I just got a new card and haven't looked at reviews of new cards so I don't know what is good now. Those VGA charts are a good place to start, but I'm sure if you start another thread being specific on what you want and how much you want to spend, other people on the forum can give you advice.
