I personally don't like built in speakers on monitors. Most kids want decent speakers for gaming and music. First thing my 12 year old did when I built his computer was to talk me into 5.1 speakers he found on sale on the internet. Unfortunately, I let him do the transaction with my credit card and he elected overnight shipping vs. the free 3 day shipping. The shipping cost almost as much as the speakers.

Refresh rate looks to be good for gaming.

This at 48 lbs. is not something I'd want to move more than once. How big is the footprint.? On two of my systems I have 17" Sonys and they take up a lot of space. Love my 17" NEC LCD 1700V.

Price?

He has a set of logitech 640's to use.....so he will probably turn down the volume on the monitor.

Price .......$149.00 without tax/ free shipping

I have a 17" Sony 200SX that is 5 years old and I still love it. Sony makes nice monitors but there are others that are as good. The speakers are not something I would buy.

Howdy neighbor! Sounds like a pretty good deal. You know there's a Tigerdirect outlet store in Miami now. They don't have a whole lot there, but I do remember they had some decent deals on monitors. You can get directions on their web site... www.tigerdirect.com
