Where is the folder now? What OS? Where is it at and what does it tell you when you try to delete it?

If you want to do it in DOS, you can boot to a floppy and use "cd" to get into your desktop directory ("c:\WINDOWS\DESKTOP" on a Win98/ME machine). Then just use "del <filename>" to delete it.

It is easier to remove in safe mode, but booting from the hard drive may still cause you problems.

Try Safe Mode. Hold down F8 right before WinXP starts to load and select "Safe Mode" from the menu that appears. After the system loads, try deleting the file. Safe mode keeps some of the stuff from loading that may be holding onto whatever it is you are deleting.

Forgive the incoherent speech, I'm losing my logic processing ability at this hour.
