Download this little proggy called MBProbe. It is very easy to install and setup. It will tell you the temps of your CPU and mainboard too.

Depending on how old the motherboard is, a temp monitoring progam may or may not work.

That's because early mobos didn't have temp probes built in.

If the app doesn't show any temps, it's probably because the mobo doesn't have any temp sensors on it.

Just thought you may need to know that.

Cheers

What CPU is it? I'd suspect that is the CPU temp rather than mobo temp, most likely.

If you can tell us what CPU is in it, and even better, what mobo it is, that will help work out what sensors it has.

Cyrix 686 CPU's had a tendency to run a bit hot, so that temp (assuming it's Celcius ) looks fine, either for the CPU or the mobo. Is it hot where the PC is? And does it have a nice HSF on it? Or just a heat sink with no fan?

The actually brand and model of the mobo may help determine where the temp sensor is.

Cheers

Sorry, Daniel, that doesn't help to ID the exact mobo very easily. It's just the Intel chipset.

As the PC starts up, there should be a string of letter/numbers in the lower left hand side of the screen They will help ID the mobo. Use the pause key to halt booting if it's too quick to read.

Cheers
