Harddrives and New System

Hey guys,

I want to know if I can take my two harddrives from my current system and bring them to the new one that i'm going to build. I'm getting a new mobo and processor and everything but i would like to keep my harddrives and all the information on them. Is this even possible???

I have not seen any issues with swapping HD's.

In most instances no..if it even boots it can/will be unstable and slow. You're best to backup anything you need and re-install windows when the drive is in the new machine

Most times you have to reformat the drive when you change mobos. Info on old hrddrive have the cuurrent settings. New mobo might have different configurations and settings. A fresh install would be better anyway. Help system run stable.
Make sure to back up any data you wanna keep.

can i just take the one harddrive, the 30gb, and put that in and do a fresh install and then attach thte second harddrive with all my important data and not worry???? It has already been formatted by winXP and that's the current OS i have on both harddrives

If the second is a slave it shouldn't matter.

yes the second one is going to be the slave, and the 30gb is going to be the masta
