Does Windows Update have something for it?

what problems are you having? Detection or what? Also if you need drivers pop in the FCC ID on the card into the FCC ID Database at http://www.driverzone.com/fcc_id_search.htm That will tell you the cards name and who makes it (if its not gigabyte), and you should be able to get the right drivers.

AMR modems are usually either SmartLink or PCTel chipsets.

Thanks for all your replies,

It's a PCtel modem, not sure which model tho as it didn't have a FCC no. printed on it, and when i put the modem in the AMR slot it won't detect it, i went into cmos to see if i could enable disable amr but there's nothing to do with amr.

You need to enable "Onboard Modem" or similar. You should then see a "PCI simple comms" device in Device manager. This is where to install the modem driver to.
