random BSOD and reboot

Recently during ONLINE games, I have had some random blue screens of death as well as a reboot afterwards... Sometimes I'll be on for an hour, sometime two. But sooner or later it will happen.
I can't catch what the message says on the BSOD because it flashes for about 1 second, then it reboots.

It has NEVER done this before, until I recently installed my DSL internet.
I can surf the net all day, but after an hour or so of gaming, it reboots.
Could the DSL software possibly cause the problem?

I'm using Windows 2000 with SP3, and "Tango Manager" for my DSL connection through Alltel...

I'm not sure on the exact place to disable the automatic reboot in Win2k, but I think its at least pretty close to XP

In XP its... Right Click My Computer --> Properties --> Advanced -->Startup and Recovery Settings --> "Automatically Restart" checkbox

I would normally guess RAM But since its just happened with the DSL install I would doubt it. I just recently got Alltel DSL about a week ago and havent had any problems with the "Tango Manager."


First I'd simply try uninstalling and reinstalling the DSL software with the quickstart CD. Try playing a game.

Then I would uninstall it completely and try playing a game (would have to do single player), to see if you get the same problem.

If that doesnt fix the problem....

A) Email Alltel tech support (probably a waste of time)
B) Reinstall your OS
