So the computer boots up regular but moniter doesnt display anything?

First I would try the monitor on another comp if possible, then if it works on 2nd comp I'd look into your video card.

When you put in the new video card I assume you hooked it up to the new VGA port (yeah i knows its stupid but sometimes people overlook small things). Also, you might have to go into the BIOS to disable the onboard video card. However, since its a brand name PC they always seem to revamp the BIOS and make it so the user cant change many settings.

I didnt look into the model number, but if its still under warrenty you could always try calling gateway and see what they say

ok,

i tried different slots for the video card with no evail. The light still stay red on the monitor, like its not getting a signal, and for the Bios, I can't even get the screen to come on, all I can see and hear working is the power supplie fan, cd-rom because the door opens as soon as the PC is powerd up, and I can hear the HD running, anything else you can think of?
Thank you for sticking with me on my questions
Thank you....

Just because you hear things running doesn't mean the mobo's working. Your problem may be more serious. You didn't get any beeps at all??

Hi, you got it, not even a beep....
what can the problem be?
I went to gateways site, made sure the jumpers and wires were hooked up right on the board, everything is in place, should i get out the big hammer..lol
Thanks...

I also tried another harddrive out of a good running PC still nothing any better...

That don't sound too good friend. Take the cpu and rams out and turn on the system. No beeps at all may mean a dead mobo.

By the way, check your pc speaker.
