Outdoors Wireless router internet connection sharing

Just upgraded from a linksys switch to a wireless cable router w/ built in switch. I have dialup on the one computer and wish to allow the others to connect through it, as it did before using the switch. I haven't been able to get the other computers (wired or wireless) to connected to the internet but they are on the network. Are there settings I need to fix with the router, like the DHCP?

...the router isn't what's hsaring the internet if it's dialup, it's that one computer with the dialup...a router is unnecessary with dialup as it's only purpose is to be a link between the systems.

I have a wireless router. I does not matter if i don't need a router for dialup. Yes I realize the router isn't what's sharing the internet, the computer with the dialup is acting as the gateway. I have a very good grasp on networking but haven't played with routers much and need some help.

The wireless router is to give the laptop wireless access to the Internet. The wired network worked great w/ Internet Connection Sharing and the switch. I plugged into the router and can't get the wired computer to connect to the internet (or the wireless one for that matter).

Did you enable ICS in windows (assuming you're running it)?

What it sounds like is you need to disable the DHCP on the router.

It looks like the ICS of Windows (or whatever program you are currently using) and the router are fighting to see which one is the DHCP server. Sounds like the router is winning and messing up the IP address' of the wired computers and not letting them connect.

That was my hunch but I had trouble figuring out how to shut it off on the router. All is well now, thanks again!
