LED Directing!

HEy all, i got a littlke problem, does any one own a antec case? The SOHO BI1040.

OK ya know those 4 leds in the front?
i took em out cause the look ugly, now i got some SUPER bright LEDs bleu ones i wanna put in there, now i could take 4 of em and put on in each slot but i only wanna use 2, and i was wondering if i could use some kind of clear plastic to split the leds light and direct it into the holes. Anybdy know what im talking about?

If yes anny sugestions?

you could use a small piece of plexi with a hole drilled for the led to go through and cover the other hole as it may carry the light enough to light the other hole but it wouldn't fill the hole in. Your best bet would be to run 2 led's together one for each set of holes but you would most likely need to change the resistance but I'll not to sure about that it may work with out a change but don't blow up your mobo and yell at me.

You could do something like that. Think fiber optics. If you took some plexiglass rod, say 1/4" diameter or so and cut two pieces and bent them (with heat) to fill the two holes and bent the other ends together and put the LED behind it, it could work. Try smallparts.com for the plexiglass rod. Let us know how it turns out!

I'd try a Google search. Try things like plastic rod, polymer rod, Dow Corning, GE, acrylic rod, plexiglass rod.

So, why can't you use the 1/4" rod? Are you trying to fit it into the holes in the case? If so, I'd simply trim down one end with a file or a Dremmel tool, until it fits.
