Install XP with no cd ?
How do i install XP with no cd...
Its for a cd romless laptop , I have copied all the files to the h/d also enough dos to get around, It has a setup.exe but wont run from dos.....
Any clues for me????

Don't know about XP but win2kpro you could use 4 floppies to boot the setup. There is a make boot disk or something like that on the cd.

yeah...here's some info on how to install using floppies.
http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/clean_install.htm
also you can go into the i386 folder and run winnt.exe, that should start up the install

I suppose an alternate option if you had the resources would be to either hook up an external hard drive or a networked hard drive and use Norton Ghost to clone an XP install onto your laptop

yah you can make the boot disk, but what good would those do as you still need the info off the cd
best bet is to get an external cd-rom

If the laptop hasn't a CD ROM, I'd use Windows 98SE!
