Memtest86 results question

Okay, ran memtest.

I also have a p4 2.4 so I tried both sticks in both computers.

So far the SimpleTech posted multiple errors on the AMD, none so far on the p4 and it's further along in the test than the amd got, so I figure I won't get any.
Tested the crucial on the AMD. Again,multiple errors, like 50> and I was only halfway through, same as the first.

I tried both sticks in all 3 slots of the MSI board, always the same result.

Any ideas why the big difference?

MSI K7N2-Delta-L
MSI GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB 8x AGP
512 Crucial and also a 512 Simpletech(being used to troubleshoot)
AMD 1700

what kind of errors are you getting?

It doesn't really specify, It'd be a long list I let it run while I watched the race and came back to over 850 errors. So, I'm now at a loss. I thought memtest tested the memory, if that's the case it should find the problem on either computer, right?!?!

do you have all the settings the basicly same on both systems?

Yup, everythings the same. I'm not a happy camper, I've spent the entire weekend starting Thursday after work trying to get this up and running. I spent most of today at the MSI forums. Basically they said it's the pickiest board on God's green earth when it comes to RAM. Oh, of course I could buy some Muskin, but 2x256 chips will cost me $150. Why should I have to buy new ram for a board, ridiculous. I'm gonna RMA the stupid thing.
