Ahh! PSU Overheating

Well I think its finally time to replace the cheapy PSU that came with my 40 dollar case w/ a Codegen 350W PSU, upon further checking the 12V string only supports 12A of current

I noticed earlier this morning that my room was starting to smell like something was burning, it started getting worse so i decided to see where the problem was coming from, after some sniffing it was coming from my computer, so i opened up the side of the case. Heatsink and case fans were running fine but the PSU felt really hot to the touch, then i noticed the fan that spits air out the back of it wasnt working (the unit only has 1 fan). So i shut down and came back now (few hours from when i shut it down). When I first started the comp up again it was fully cool but the fan wasnt turning, after about 3-5 mins it seemed to turn on again, but I want to replace this since its now so unreliable.

Now heres my problem, what PSU do I want to buy?
System specs might help
AMD XP 2000+
Soyo Dragon Ultra KT333
512 PC2100 DDR Ram
80GB IBM 7200 RPM HDD
48x MSI Dragon Writer (CD-RW)
16x Artec DVD-ROM
Asus v8420 GF4 ti4200
2, 80MM case fans
Volcano 7
Leadtek Winfast TV2000 XP Deluxe PCI card

I was looking at the antec true power series because they seem to be so raved about, however, the 430W tru power was 90 dollars shipped from newegg.

Although I could afford to buy it I'm a little tight on cash. Quality on this one is going to mean alot to me, but I was wondering if I might be overlooking another really reliable brand

Thx alot,
Andrew

I think a 350W should run your system, but you might want an upgrade path, so go with over 400w

Personally, I think Antec's are just overpriced, so natually people think they're better...like all their products.

Reviews look excellent, TT is a trusted brand. There are some cheaper options, but that looks like a good psu.

Hmm, the only thing I see wrong with it is that the reviews say the "silent" aspect of it makes it so that it doesnt cool all that well

Still open to options, thx to everyone for helping so far

That's big bucks for a power supply! I usually buy my case and power supply together! This one has served me well:

Power supply

Powmax makes a nice aluminum dual fan power supply in the $50 range. I have one and it has thermal fan control and it is quiet. Remember you want a tad more power than you really need so the power supply will not be near max all the time running full throttle. Most if not all PS have a rating of watts but I have read you do not want to be anywhere near the top of that number i.e your computer is using 390 watts for example and you buy a 400W power supply. Your PS might blow out at 392W so get a little more power.
