pc 2700 or pc 3200

hey guys

I am just wondering if pc2700 and pc 3200 have any kind of difference preformance wise. Like if you had in a pc 2700 chip then swaped it with a pc 3200 is there mush of a difference?? So sould i stick with the pc 2700 or spend some more money and buy the pc 3200??

If you are using a 333 Mhz fsb Athlon or less, you won't notice a big performance increase.

PC2700 is noted to be quite faster on memory benchmarks than PC3200 with 333mhz FSB AthlonXPs (I don't know about P4s)...this is because it runs at lower latency timings than PC3200 does at the moment.

I would say stick with pc2700, as it's cheaper and is still very good unless you had something like dual channel memory if your motherboard supports it and you were running a motherboard that will stabily use the memory at the full 200mhz, also the amd athlon 3000+ has a 400mhz fsb. I would recommend sticking to what works best with the product. If you don't have a 400mhz fsb or 333mhz core then use the pc2700.

well the board i have is a gigabyte 7vaxp... I have pc 2700 512 on it now. So do you think with this board i sould just stick with the pc 2700.
