Is there a way I could hook up my case lights to an on/off switch?

Like if I had a couple of these in the case:

There will be times when I want to turn them off even while the computer is running.

They give you a switch with that cathode kit...wire the power from both to that

you can wire a switch to any of the two wires that go to the light(s) from the molex's. You can buy switches at any home improvement store or radio shack. Radio shack will have small ones that can do all kinds of great things. All that a switch does, is break the current of electricity. I would wire the switch up to the red wire because that is your positive wire. You are not limited to using only the wire that is provided, you can splice in more wire so that you can put the switch anywhere on your case that you want to. You will only need to extend the wire that your puting the switch on.

If I were you I would do a search on how switches work and how electricity works on the internet so that you will have a basic understanding of what your doing. With both lights that you are showing, your only using 12 volts, which isnt enough to harm you (give you a light shock) but enough to cause you to have to buy new lights if you short them out

Find me a cold-cathode kit that doesn't include switches that slide into the back of your case and I'll do something special for you, like redirect all your mail to me

Ok, that's easy enough... but here's a tricky one:

Can I take a termal sensor and trigger it to light up or turn off at a certain temp?

That's beyond the capabilities of wires...that would take a logic board.

Thought so...

I could program the logic, I just don't have any idea how I would get that into a chip.

Hmm... Now you have me thinking.

You can get thermally controlled fans, and multi-function bays that control your fans based on the temperature, right? I wonder what would happen if you wired up your cold cathodes to one of those things? I'd do it, but I don't have anything except two temperature sensitive Enermax case fans, and no CC's.

Anyone up to the challenge?

My original idea was three LED colors arrayed in the case.

Base on the current temp, the lights would go from blue(or green) to yellow, to red.
