Kids programing software

anybody know where i can get some cheap programing software?
i want to start programing but dont want to spend that much money on software.

welcome to Techimo. You could always get Python its free and it is a great way to learn programming.

What kind of programming are you looking at getting into? Any specific languages in mind? If you are looking at object-oriented languages (C, C++, Java), then there are plenty of tutorials on the web that will walk you through many of the basics of these languages.

Compiler software for each of these is also readily available for free downloading from download.com, etc.
