best CPU for games?
whats the best CPU for gaming P4 or the AMD XP line?

P4 but by a little margin. The thing that makes a bigger difference is the video card.

well i love AMD....but Intels dont heat up as much. they're a little safer. right?

Intel don't heat up as much ?

That's because their heastink is HUGE. Put a similarly sized one on a AMD (like a Volcano9) and you'll have comparable temps.

Maybe they got smaller, haven't worked on a P4 for quite a while.

the one i lost was an AMD i only use AMD i was just concidering breaking tradition.

Intel gets my vote.. with a stock heatsink and fan. No problems. The fans for the those Athlons/Bartons are way to noisey.
