Problem setting up the K7S6A to.....Please Help

I installed the mobo in the case hooked up everything and all that but when i turn it on the mobo works great and stuff, but my monitor will not turn on for some reason.

On the motherboard there is a red light that turns on by the DDR ram slot, here is the pic where the light is.

http://www.grobar.150m.com/helpm.jpg

here are some specs on the computer so it gives you idea of what i'm working on:

ECS Duron/Athlon/XP 2600+ Sckt A 266FSB Mobo
Athlon XP 2200+
GF4 Ti4600 128mb DDr AGP 8X
2 Sticks of 256 DDR ram, one is PC2100 and other on is PC2700
PSU: 400W

The monitor just stays idle with this set up. Now i tried different video card, still the monitor is idle so i know its not the graphic card. I know its not the HD, and i'm not sure about the memory could that be it??

If you can help me or give mesome advice i'd really appreciate it.

thanks in advance
slavisa

Have you tried clearing the CMOS? If not, check your mobo manual for instructions and give it a whirl. Seems to happen a lot with new builds.

Best of luck, and welcome to TechIMO!

Welcome to TechIMO!!!

Well I know that alot of mobo by ECS are picky with the ram. Maybe its the ram. My question is how do you know the mobo works great if you cant get the monitor to post anything?
Try using one stick of memory at a time

cmos are cleared

Checked the CPU and works good, i tried Duron 1.3ghz one and same thing happens.

I tried both memories alone, one is spectek and other one is pny but they still dont work. I know because i bought it today, but if i cant figure it i guess i'll just return it or sell it for 50$ or something

thanks guys on replies if you have any other suggestions let me know i'll try anything,

Before you go and sell it. Check your CPU in someone elses computer who has a Socket A board just to make sure its not the CPU and rule it out. Then If it isnt the CPU it maybe the Memory. I also have a ECS board but mine is a 5A not 6A and man I gotta tell ya its really picky with the Memory.
